The internet is full of resources for needleworkers.

For instance, if you need a stitch reference or other needlework advice and we're not open,
you can visit stitchguide.com, which provides assistance to knitters and crocheters.

About.com offers its own knitting stitch library. Also, the following sites provide handy measurement guides:

Infant's and Children's Sizes

Misses's Sizes

Women's Sizes

Men's Sizes

Sock Sizes

Household Textiles and Non-fitting Clothing Accessory Sizes

You also may want to take a peek at Knit 'N Style Magazine Online.

Here are the links to the major craft guilds and local organizations:

The Knitting Guild of America
Craft Yarn Council of America
The National Needlarts Association (TNNA)
Crochet Guild of America

DC Knitters

DC Knitters is lead by our customers Michelle Strange and Wallace Boyd. Here's a picture of Michelle and her colleagues at Smithsonian Magazine with a beautiful afghan that they knit at lunch, using Barbara Walker's "Learn to Knit Afghan Book" (which is available for purchase at our shop). DC Knitters organizes informal monthly meetings for knitters, crocheters, and all fiber artists. Their web site can point you to a local group.
