Back from Stitches East

I just spent 4 days and nights knitting and taking knitting classes. I learned how to purl with yarn wrapped around my neck(ask me to show you next time you come in) which has an incredible impact on speed and an easy technique for continental knitting. I produced a swatch worthy of anyone learning knitting for the first time-embarrassing, but good, since it reminds me how people feel when learning to knit or crochet. It was fun to be surrounded by people as crazy-or crazier- than I am about working with fibers- including "jelly yarn" which isn't nearly as yucky to knitas one would think and yields a very cool belt or purse.
