start thinking gifts!
It is that time of year when we turn our needlework focus to gifts (Some of you may note I have been focused that way for many weeks now!) and finding that perfect something to create for our loved ones. Scarves always seem to take front and center, but I would like to suggest an alternative to yards of repetitive stitching--the hat!Hats are a great alternative to scarves. They usually take less yarn, and the skills involved in creating one are very easy to master. Like scarves, there are a multitude of design possibilities to suit every taste and work well as gifts for both men and women.
Pictured here we have three store models that you can see in person when you visit the shop. Above we have both a knit and crocheted hat in Manos del Uruguay. both hats can be worked in a single skein of yarn, making them great gifts under $20 that you can complete in a few evenings in front of the television.
If you are looking for something more challenging, why not go for a hat with a cable or a lace edged border as pictured here in our Frog Tree Merino. This hat only took one skein of yarn, which makes it a fantastic value at under $10!Want something a little bigger for extra special people? Maybe a hat and scarf set is the way to go. Pick two designs you like and do them in the same yarn. Or pick a pattern for a set and work them in complimentary color combinations. The options are endless.
